Leisure time activities of Roma children in Tabor

Bachelor thesis of "Leisure time activities Roma children in Tabor" is about the leisure activities of Roma children in Tabor. The work is focused on the history of the Roma, the relationship of the Roma child to the school, the relationship of the Roma minority to upbringing of Roma children. For the most part is dedicated to the non-State non-profit organizations, which are engaged in leisure activities not only for Roma children in Tabor. Further focuses on the Organization of the 1. Kiwajunior Club Camp, and especially on its Fílie project, which is aimed at children from socio-culturally disadvantaged environment, from the children's home Radenín, children from Asylum House for women and mothers with children in Tabor, and thus prevention of pathological phenomena. With the boy, who is involved in the Fília project, case study has been developed. The practical part is focused on the specific ways of spending leisure time activities of Roma children in Tabor, with whom and where leisure time activities they spend, whether leisure time activities the Roma children spend with family or friends, as they represent leisure time activities, whether there are whiles, when are bored.
Supporting Programs for Substitute Families with Romany Children

This bachelor thesis deals with the substituting of family care for children with Roma roots in the Czech Republic. The main focus is the specific support programs for families who adopted Roma children. This thesis maps out existing support programs for the substitute families with Roma children. Three programs have been selected and described in detail, based on interviews with the ones who implement these programs. The description focuses mainly on the following aspects: The way in which Roma culture is explained to the substitute families, sources of information provided by the overseers of programs to the substitute families, and proportion of Roma and non-Roma workers involved in the preparation and implementation of these programs. The perspective of the support programs are supplemented by the reflection of these activities by the participants of the programs. This thesis also includes information on the outlying framework of the given subjects, i.e. the system of substitute child care in the Czech Republic. This thesis also points out the over-represented number of Roma children in group facilities compared to the majority of the population and, at the same time, applicants of substitute family care are unwilling to accept Roma children. Chosen Charactreristics of Children from Children´s Homes

This final year thesis focuses on problems of children growing up in children´s homes. In the theoretical part it deals with definition of the term children´s home and children´s home with school, reasons for placing child in children´s home, purpose and function of family and children´s home. The thesis characterizes family background a child came from to children´s home, it describes deprivation syndrome and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. A part of the thesis addresses Romany children growing up in children´s home and the relation between childhood spent in children´s home and crime committed in adulthood. The last chapter refers to some difficulties of young people leaving institutional upbringing. The practical part contains comparison of composition of children from three chosen institutions (two state and one non-state) Children´s Home with School Horní Planá, Children´s Home Aš and Private Children´s Home Koryto. They are compared especially in spheres described in the theoretical part. Concurrently I obtained basic information about particular children´s homes from senior executive. Also I monitored carers opinions of institutional upbringing and of children´s state of preparation for independent life after leaving children´s home and their attitudes to upbringing children.
